Monte Redondo Wind Farm, Chile
16/12/2011
On a recent job for the French agency Abaca Press, I was assigned to photograph Monte Redondo Wind Farm, an eolic park operated by the French multinational group GDF Suez in Chile. The park holds 19 wind turbines located in the coastal area of the city of Ovalle, province of Limarí, IV region of Coquimbo, just by the side of route 5 north, approximately 325km from Santiago.
This region, besides being very windy, has another interesting natural characteristic: the Camanchaca, a cloud bank that forms in the coast of Atacama Desert and moves inland. It is a dense fog that does not drop any rain.
