Arch of Triumph
The Arch of Triumph (Arc de Triomphe) is one of the most famous monuments in the world. Located in the center of Place Charles de Gaulle, at the western end of Champs-Élysées, in Paris, it honors those who fought for France.
It was commissioned by Emperor Napoleon in 1806, after the victory in Austerlitz, and the construction finished only during the reign of King Louis-Philippe, in 1836.
It is a huge and beautiful monument, particularly at night.
