Ribeirão da Ilha
Ribeirão da Ilha is a district of Florianópolis, capital of the state of Santa Catarina, south of Brazil. The neighborhood is one of the first settlements in the Island of Santa Catarina (Ilha de Santa Catarina), when hundreds of Azorean immigrants arrived to the city at the end of 18th century.
The historic center has some well preserved Portuguese colonial architecture houses, and a church that was founded in 1806, named Nossa Senhora da Lapa Church. There are some beautiful beaches too, and a lot of restaurants just by the sea. Actualy, Ribeirão da Ilha is the district with the largest oyster production in Brazil.
This is a popular tourist spot all over the year, especially in the winter season (june to september). It is distant from downtown about 40km.
