São Joaquim Mother Church, Garopaba

26/10/2009

São Joaquim Mother Church, in Garopaba, on the coast of the state of Santa Catarina, south of Brazil, was buit in 1846 over a hill that was used as an observatory point to watch the whales approaching the beach. With a characteristic azorean architecture style, this small church is part of the history of the city and an interesting place to visit in Garopaba, well known for its beaches and nightlife during the summer season.
