Gendarmenmarkt

20/11/2009

Gendarmenmarkt is the name of a square in Berlin, where are located the Konzerthaus, the French Cathedral (Französische Dom) and the German Cathedral (Deutsche Dom).

The two cathedrals were buit in the beginning of the 18th century, and the Konzerthaus in the beginning of the 19th century. These buildings were severely damaged during the World War II, and they were reconstructed after German reunification.

The Gendarmenmarkt hosts one of the most popular Christmas markets of Berlin.
