Barra Velha is located on the north coast of Santa Catarina state, southern Brazil. Lots of tourists go there on summer season looking for its beautiful beaches. Fishermen sell their products directly from their fishing boats on the beach, so it´s easy to get fresh sea food when in town.
On the top of a hill called “Morro do Cristo” there are two statues imitating the famous Cristo Redentor at Rio de Janeiro. The statues are not so beautiful as the original one, but the view from up there is very nice.
